Sadie’s Nursery Reveal

Sadie’s nursery is finally finished!!!! We officially have one completed room in our house!  Time to celebrate….by working on some of the other more forgotten rooms… Nurseries always get all the love & sweet Sadie’s is no exception.  What is it about babies rooms that makes it so fun to decorate?  I don’t know, but I sure had a fun time doing this one!

Before we moved in we had the walls painted (Sherwin Williams – Shoji White) & ceilings scraped, along with new carpets installed.  Here is a before shot to put it all in perspective.  You can give all the credit for the asparagus green walls to middle-school-me.

Since then we’ve set up all of Sadie’s furniture.  Her crib is still my absolute favorite!  Her dresser we picked up at Ikea, along with the picture ledges we use as book shelves.  Sadie’s changing pad holder was made by Zach & it turned out AWESOME!  Maybe we should put together a tutorial for that?

All of the quilts in Sadie’s room are hand made by my mom (aka. Grammy), my Grandma Bianco, & me!  The blue one, my Grandma quilted for me as a baby.  How special is that!  This cactus lamp was a gift from my sisters (along with a super cute Rifle Paper Co. print that I have yet to hang).  I love how it gives a pop of color.  We put it on this dimmer so I can keep the light low before bedtime & its perfect.

We hung new curtains, which were Zach’s pick.  He wanted this room to be girlier than her first nursery (which you can check out on this page, along with the rest of our first house).  You can also see her mint green ceiling fan peeking out at the top of this picture.  The art above Sadie’s crib is a piece that my mom needle-pointed when she was in High School.  It was rediscovered in the move & goes perfectly with the rest of Sadie’s room.

Lastly is this little corner at the entrance to the nursery.  The bunnies & dolly were mine as a little girl & were all made by either my mom or grandma.  Sadie’s favorite toy right now is the baby bunnies.  You should see how cute she is twirling them around and squeaking.  We don’t keep many toys in her room because we want it to mainly be a place for calm & sleep, but this spot is perfect for her to sit & play while I put her laundry away & clean up her room.
